Daily. On from the first day.

Reddit Agent

Reddit rewards the person who answers the question and removes everybody else. This agent does the reading: every day it goes through the threads in the places your audience posts, and drafts the reply for the ones where what you built is genuinely the answer. You post it yourself.

Reddit

The thread you should have answered was yesterday

The threads where somebody is asking for exactly what you built go past at two in the afternoon, while you are shipping. By the time you look, the question has three answers and a lock. And the alternative, sitting in six subreddits all day, is not a plan: it is the reason founders stop doing Reddit after a fortnight, which is right about when it starts working.

What is Reddit marketing?

Reddit marketing is answering the question somebody already asked. Nobody goes to a subreddit to be sold to, and the moderators of the places worth being in remove anything that reads like an ad. What works is narrow: you find the thread where your product is the honest answer, you write the answer, and you say you built the thing. That is the whole method, and it is slow because reading threads is slow.

A Reddit agent is the reading half of that, done for you. It searches recent threads in the subreddits your audience posts in, weighs each one against what your product actually does, and drafts the reply you would have written if you had two free hours. It does not post. Posting is yours, under your own account, because on Reddit the account is the reputation and an automated account has none.

How it works

  1. 1

Kwern gathers what it needs itself

Nothing to connect. The agent searches recent public threads, in the subreddits your audience posts in and in the words they use. For each thread worth a reply it reads the opening post, the best comments and the subreddit's rules, and keeps the URL you will open to post. How the Reddit connector works

  2. 2

    Runs daily

A run reads recent threads, weighs each against your product, and leaves a draft reply only on the few where a reply adds the most and is worth your reputation. A thread you answered or rejected does not come back while the agent remembers it, which is the last hundred it proposed.

  3. 3

    You decide what goes out

Reddit does not let a tool post on your behalf without becoming the kind of tool subreddits ban, so Kwern does not try. There is no Approve button on a Reddit reply: there is Copy, the thread URL beside it, and Mark as done. You paste, you post, you mark it done, and the agent knows not to bring that thread back.

What it leaves you

One thing, and it is the thing that works on Reddit: a reply, written for a specific thread.

Answer the thread asking how people keep a habit after a missed day

ReplyThe agent found a thread in a subreddit your audience posts in, read the question, the best answers so far and the subreddit's rules, and wrote a reply that adds what those answers missed and mentions what you built in one line at the end. The proposal carries the thread URL, so Copy and the link put you in Reddit's comment box with the reply on your clipboard.

The skills it runs

A run may activate these and nothing else. Every one of them is open: read the file before you turn the agent on.

Will this get my Reddit account banned?

Nothing posted by a machine

Nothing is posted by a machine. Kwern never holds a session it can post with; it gives you the text and the link, and you post it from your own account like any other Reddit user.

The answer before the mention

The draft answers the question before it mentions you, and mentions you only where the product is the answer. A reply that opens with your product name is the one that gets removed, and the agent is told not to write it.

You read every draft

You read every draft. If a reply is too promotional for that subreddit, you reject it and the thread does not come back. The agent never gets to find out whether it would have got away with it.

What a Reddit agent costs elsewhere

These are the prices on those companies' own pricing pages on the day shown. Kwern publishes no audience figure for Reddit, because we have not measured one and the ones on other people's pages are unsourced.

Questions about the Reddit Agent
